Virus Related:

 McAfee Stinger : http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

                                This program is a bare bones virus scanner.  It will not scan for every virus ever released, but it will scan for the most common viruses and remove them if found. 

Spyware Related: 

Spybot Search & Destroy: http://security.kolla.de/

                This program is one of our favourites.  It will scan for and remove over 60,000 types of Spyware and has an inbuilt immunization tool to help prevent re-infection in the future. 

Adaware : http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/

                A great tool, very similar to Spybot.  It is slightly easier to use, but not quite as powerful as Spybot. 

File Utilities: 

Winzip: http://www.winzip.com/

Zip files are a common occurrence when sending files through email.  They need to be uncompressed to get to the data inside.  Winzip is the defacto “unzipping” program for Windows based computers. 

Other regularly used programs: 

                Acrobat Reader: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Acrobat Reader allows you to read PDF files, which are another common occurrence with email.  Note that this program only allows you to read/print PDF files, not create them.  If you wish to be able to create PDF files, talk to us, and we can supply you with a solution.
